Here is the latest deck build we’ve done. Check it out, and then order your very own!
Trex DeckThis is our most recent build, a 12'x24' composite deck with a 12'x12' gable roof.
RocksAs you can see, there was a lot of stone in the ground. On the right hand side of the pic, you can just see part of the electric jackhammer we used to break up the bigger stones. All in all, it took us a little over three times as long as it usually would to cut the holes.
Bigfoot SightingFor this one, we used the Bigfoot Systems pier forms. They are nice because they save a lot of concrete when you need a large diameter footing, and don't want to fill the entire hole with concrete.
More StoneHere is a closer look at some of the stone we pulled out of the ground. The majority of what you see here was one big boulder we had to jackhammer out to reach our depth.
LedgerWhile we were waiting to get our hole inspections, we layed-out, and attached the ledger board
No More HolesFinally the piers are poured and backfilled. Now we temp-up the deck framingto make it easier to level off and get our post lengths.
Self SupportingNow we have the beams and support posts in, and the deck is standing up all on its own. They grow up so quick.
A Little ShadeThe LVL's to support the roof, and the ceiling joists are in. This project was entirely under the beating sun so we were happy just to have the little shade the framing provided.
Taking ShapeWe finished cutting the roof, and are now ready to sheath, and shingle it.
Sheathed and ShingledA little trimming here and there, and the roof will be all finished.

Stairway to HeavenI love how these stairs came out. Theyre almost nice enough to be INSIDE a home.
